Dont Waste Your Money

I would give it a lower rating if I could. It simply does not work. It does not connect to any pattern companies as it claims to. Screens freeze. If you tap "Projects" it shuts down. And if you contact App Support you will be ignored. This is the WORST app Ive ever purchased.

Latest update - now app will not open

This app is still a headache. The update turned a mediocre situation into an untenable one. SIGH...I updated with latest upgrade and now the app will not launch. Is this what we should come to expect from this app? Is there no developer willing to make a better one so we can cut our losses with this one and move on?

Starting To Really Dislike This App

New version crashes even more than last one--it crashes before it can fully load my pattern collection and it wont stay open long enough for me to review what patterns I have. Also, landscape view is no longer available. Do not purchase until this apps current users report an improvement in performance.

Upgrade to 3.0 Causes Loss of Data

Like others have reported, when my iPad 4 updated itself to version 3.0 I lost most of my data. Projects I had finished, all of my fabrics (but 1), all of my data on people (but 1), threads (but 1), and books (but 1) are all gone. The patterns did remain, even the ones I input by hand that werent in the database. I am really disappointed with this release, as I had spent DAYS inputting all of is information in to the original App. (Even then the App had some issues, but at least it was usable.) I am really not clear why they released it in this condition. Did the McCallss sponsorship change that? I am not sure if I will try again with the App or if I have lost all confidence in it.

Totally useless

I was just starting to like this app but since moving to the iPhone 5S and apparently being updated, it simply crashes every single time I try to open it. No amount of restart helps. Not excited about having to re-download as all my data will be gone, but apparently that may have happened anyway. Better be another update soon to fix the fixes... UPDATE: deleted and re-downloaded. It now seems to work but of course all the data I had is indeed gone. Not amused....

Horrible app

For the price, this is a horrible app. It crashes, deletes information. I want money back. Dont bother thinking this is your solution, this a piece of junk!

Bugs fixed, Great app!

I love this app! User interface is clean, easy to navigate, and intuitive. LOTS of options for cataloguing patterns, notions, fabrics, etc. Im quite impressed. And it seems the issues with past versions have been fixed with the latest update (at least for me). Definitely recommended. One request: it would be nice to have the option of backing up to more than just Dropbox, ie. iCloud, etc. Still, a very good app.

Dont upgrade until this is fixed!

After the most recent upgrade, February 20th 2014 or so, this app is broken for me. It will open to the splash screen and appear frozen, but if I reselect it from the iPads screen where you close apps, it will go on to the pattern page, but then freeze again. Eventually it will appear as if it had crashed, but it simply bounces back to the iPad home screen without actually crashing. No way to access my data. I am very sad, because it was working better after the previous update, and I had increased my star rating. If it gets fixed, I will update again, and hopefully be able to restore my more favorable rating. As it is right now, if your installation isnt broken, dont update!

Not what I expected

Im a little disappointed. Too many presets that cant be over ridden. I have an extensive collection of vintage patterns and patterns from companies not even listed. Since pattern numbers are reused, when I put in on old vogue it gives me pics that have nothing to do with my pattern. I have tried deleting them but they keep coming back. Also fabric selection does not cover sustainable like hemp or bamboo

Extremely Disappointed

Was very excited to get this app, and spent two days reorganizing and entering my pattern collection. (Which was over 500 btw!) I updated then nothing!! It constantly freezes and now wont even open, seriously!!? What exactly was the update for? I want a refund, dont update or download!!

Disappointing

iPad version currently wont open. Unlike most apps that are for iPhone and iPad, the info input doesnt feed from one device to the other, it will have to be entered separately into the app on each device - VERY inefficient. Yardage info for patterns only shows up for Simplicity patterns, and then it is a tiny thumbnail that has to be pinched and zoomed...difficult to read on an iPhone. This is a very disappointing app and not at all what it promises to be.

Loved this but it will not work after the update

This app used to work well. Not only does it not function, customer service does not respond to inquiries. I really dont want to re-enter my data but I apparently dont have any choice. DO NOT PAY FOR THIS!

Upgrade crashed the app!

Agree with Sewcenlisa - was working fine, then upgraded and now cannot even open the app on both iphone or ipad. I have now been dead in the water for over a week. It has good potential, but for 8.99, someone needs to do some better testing!!

H D Sewing doesnt open

The last upgrade froze this app. I cannot open it and I spent hours entering information into it. If you cannot fix it soon I think we are entitled to refunds.

Dont buy! The app wont even OPEN!!!

I bought this app and uploaded almost 200 patterns and a few notions. A week later I updated the app and havent been able to open it ever since!

Very frustrated!

App will not open...closes itself and returns to iPad home page. Upgrade was disastrous.

Like it a lot but

Like it a lot but the app dose not always open for me that makes me mad when I relie on it when I buy my supplies .

Beware! Upgrade is NOT smooth

I have always had such high hopes for this app. I have stuck with it for over a year with glitches, freezes, restarts, etc. I amassed over 250 patterns with notes. I was VERY excited about the new partnership with McCalls and trusted Vesta when they said the upgrade would be smooth. I downloaded the update last night. It has yet to complete the first log in. I am now afraid that I will have to enter all of my info again and my notes are lost. Errrrrr. I want to give this app five stars. I want it to be worthy of it. I WANT IT TO WORK. 3/6/14 - Once again Ive been bagged by an update! I had to re-enter ALL of my patterns. Everything was fine until this last update. I wish I had referred to a few other reviews before doing so. Now the app will not open! I am extremely frustrated. PLEASE fix this app!

Fix is on the way!

I contacted the developer after having problems with app freezing after the update from Feb 20. He assured me that a fix is on its way. Just awaiting Apple approval. I am really looking forward to that. When it works, its a great program now!

I absolutely love this app and had been using it for years.... Then the disastrous upgrade.... Re-entered all my data (there was a ton). Got it working again. Then another disastrous upgrade. This time I was patient and VOILA! Thank you, thank you, thank you.
